For the first time ever at the level of the Government of Sharjah, the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) hosted a virtual training programme called "Metaverse" for government employees.

The effort is a result of the Human Resources department's innovative work and the implementation of brand-new training programmes as part of the government's overall performance management framework.

The programme addressed Metaverse's growing significance and its evolution from an online virtual environment to a comprehensive platform for augmented reality. Information technology (IT) security, artificial intelligence (AI), and the metaverse were the key focuses of the initiative.

The programme explored the first virtual platform to use metaverse technology, among other ground-breaking Emirati experiences in the realm of the metaverse as it relates to government operations.

According to Dr Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, Member of the Executive Council of of Sharjah and Head of the Department of Human Resources, the Department is providing training to government employees in Sharjah to improve their level of competence so that they can perform better and achieve their personal goals and the goals of government agencies as efficiently as possible. This is in accordance with His Highness's directives, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
